Growing up in Manchester, ten-year-old Peter Manning made his debut at the Free Trade Hall, and won all the national junior competitions available to a string player, as well as appearing on television.
Like Jacqueline du Pré before him, Peter won the Competition Gold Medal and First Prize at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition.
